Next, carefully pry the battery from its socket by lifting up on the side closest to the key-ring loop. Wear rubber gloves to protect the electronic contact surfaces.
After the battery is removed, place the new battery into its socket. Make sure that the positive side is facing up and that it's seated within all clips. Then, slide the cover back downwards and towards the key-ring loop until it loosens and slips off. Remove the cover to reveal the hidden mechanical key blade. This can be used to unlock your car from the driver's seat in the event that you've lost or broken the key fob.
