All-terrain stroller is light, durable and offers great maneuverability. Its compact one-hand fold makes it's lightweight and is freestanding when folded. The cushioned seat reclines to a nearly flat position and there's a giant storage bin and canopy. Newborn suitability? Yes and with a carrycot.

Air-filled tyres and a good suspension can handle rough terrain. You can also use it for jogging. But, you should wait until the baby is at minimum 6 or 9 months old.

Ickle Bubba Air

This pushchair from Ickle Bubba is a great option for parents looking for a lightweight buggy with enhanced features. It is an entire travel system that includes a lie-flat carrycot for newborns, a multi-position forward and rear-facing pushchair seat as well as a choice of a group 0+ car seats, so you can get everything in one package.

The XL Air is a really impressive car and it's simple to see why it has been awarded so many praises from customers. It's incredibly light - both the wheels and chassis weigh just 6.5kg and it's extremely simple to construct. In fact I was able put it up and running in less than five minutes, which is amazing given that it included attaching the fabric for the carrycot!

The seat is spacious and comfortable for Annie who is just 12 months old. The recline lever was simple to use. The basket is spacious with plenty of space, and I find it nice that the handle bar comes with an area to keep your phone and keys secure.

The handlebar is low, which could be an issue for parents who are taller. However, it's coated with a luxurious leather-like material that is soft and comfortable, and it wipes down easily, making it still easy to push even with bags and children on your hands!

Hauck Pushchair Runner

The Runner is designed for parents who enjoy exploring and are always on the go. Its large pneumatic wheels are designed to be used on forest and field paths, and the front wheel can be rotated and locked for extra versatility. The stroller comes with a 5-point safety harness with a front bar to keep your child safe during every trip. The parking brake will keep the stroller stationary while you rest. The seat can be adjusted to lay down and the canopy can be opened to allow maximum air circulation on hot days. The handle can be adjusted by more than 30cm to accommodate the needs of dad or mum.

The Runner will accompany you on all your adventures, whether it's a quick run, a more strenuous hike, or a long-distance walk. It has a fully-flat lay-flat seat and suspension air wheels for a smooth ride. The front wheel can be locked for greater stability on narrow streets and congested sidewalks and the stroller folds easily to fit in car boot spaces and storage areas.

The Runner 2 is a bit more difficult to navigate for some parents than its predecessor. Also, the locking system (requiring two buttons either side of the handlebar) isn't as user-friendly. The handlebar is higher than other strollers and therefore it may not be suitable for parents with shorter arms, but overall this is an extremely sturdy and flexible stroller worth considering for active families.

Red Kite Push Me pacing

Red Kite's Pace is a fantastic product from the affordable British brand. They are renowned for their well-designed, no-fuss products that are essential for parents. It's the most recent - and priciest - addition to their bargain lightweight stroller collection. It's also as with the Ickle Bubba Aurora and Yoyo it's car seat-compatible which means you can use it right from birth (the carrycot folds away).

The new Pace features some stunning design features such as a rose-gold tint on the hood, chassis and stroller trims that really set it apart. The grey, tan and cream fabrics used in the stroller as well as the car seat are stylish and there is an option to add a co-ordinating leather handle for the cover and bumper bar too.

The stroller seat is used from birth until a maximum weight of 22kg. It easily converts into a 2-in-1 reversible position, which is either parent-facing or world-facing. The stroller seat has multi lying positions, a comfortable padded leg rests and has an extendable sun canopy with concealed zip sections, a viewing through flaps and a retractable sun visor section.

When folded when folded, the Pace measures 56 x 43cm x 32cm, which makes it suitable for hand luggage on Easyjet and Ryanair. Two buttons on either side are easy to use and click to lock it in the right position.

Bugaboo Fox 5

Designed to be the ultimate all-terrain stroller, Bugaboo's latest Fox 5 promises to do it all. Its unique chassis features shorter wheel length which makes it easier to maneuver than its predecessor. I tested it with my two children - an infant and an eight week old - over the rocky roads, grassy woodland walks and even cobblestones.

The large, puncture-proof wheels - 22cm or 30cm in diameter are able to handle different terrains. The wheels have a flap that can be shut or opened to let more air in when required. It's slightly larger than most pushchairs, yet doesn't feel heavy or bulky when you are pushing it across bumpy surfaces.

The seat fabric is machine washable and the frame and faux leather grips are simple to wipe down. It's also quieter than other pushchairs and I felt at ease using it in busy urban streets. One of the advantages is that it comes with accessory points. This means you can put in footmuffs, parasols, changing bags, and even a snack tray. You can also use the hood to block wind and rain, although it's not waterproof. The single pram is able to be fitted with the Comfort 3 wheeled buggies board (not included) which allows your child more legroom. The bassinet took 20 minutes to set up and it took the same amount of time to transform it into a seat.

The reversible handlebar is great feature that lets you adjust it according to your height. The Ridge's fold, unlike other jogging strollers is reliable and self-standing when folded.
