Animir, one of the few surviving minor gods of Skonald. Before The Great Mourning he was but a deity of blood and sacrifice, but when Drakghul Frostwhisper and armies of the undead showed up, he, unlike the many gods who practically threw themselves at trying to clear the hordes, remained behind, believing himself above it. But as time went on and as fewer gods returned for brief respites, he saw what was done to them. Their flesh either torn or rotting upon their frame, what blood or energy they had left spent and sapped, yet still they fought on. He tried to give them his own flesh, but they had been wasted away far beyond his sacrifices could mend and yet he still tried. Upon realizing nothing more could be done for his fellow gods, he roused all followers of his faith and those who remained to fight with him. Yet even as his doomed march was mauled, he gave upon them his flesh to continue. When they slaughtered till their bodies began to cry out in pain, he gave upon them his blood to endure. They had assisted, but despite all that he had sacrificed many grievous losses and wounds were inflicted.

With his now shattered and broken followers, Animir found a new purpose, to repent for his crimes against the fellow gods he had forsaken...
