During her time at Brobeck, Vogel worked on asbestos cases, including those involving respondents to the Asbestos Claims Facility in Northern California. The cases files included SEAR forms (Short Evaluative reports that are encapsulated) that contained confidential information about the plaintiffs. These included medical reports as well as work histories and the list of asbestos-related products that plaintiffs used or worked near. Vogel was required to have a password to access these files, and she could also go through the SEAR forms of any case she had with her current employer.
