Catherine has represented numerous manufacturers as the lead counsel in asbestos and personal injury lawsuits related to product liability and in consolidated cases that involve multiple claimants. She has extensive experience in arguing asbestos-related lawsuits before the federal and state courts, as well as various appellate and Supreme Court bodies.

While at Brobeck, Vogel handled asbestos cases for respondents, including the Asbestos Claim Facility in Northern California. The case files included SEAR forms (Short Encapsulated Evaluative Reports) that contained confidential information about the plaintiffs, including medical reports, a history of work, and a list of asbestos products that plaintiffs worked with or around. Vogel required a password in order to access the files. Then, she could look over any SEAR forms from her current employer.

The Bowles Rice Asbestos Team, in addition to its extensive experience in trial and appellate work, is recognized nationally for its ability to negotiate settlements for its clients. In this capacity, the firm works closely with plaintiffs' lawyers in the preparation and execution of settlement agreements, and it has extensive experience in defending businesses against appeals.
